I found a fic I did over summer the other day, I don't know what to do with it, if it's worth posting to a comm or anything.

Can I has your judgements please? Here's a sample:

Alfred rang the bell to Arthur’s townhouse. He waited for a minute, but there was no reply. He rang it again, and tried to peer in a window, but the heavy blackout curtains were drawn. Alfred barely registered this as strange since it was daytime, as almost immediately he heard a key rattle in the door and turned back around to greet Arthur with his signature grin.
His smile dropped as soon as the door opened. Arthur stood in the porch, but Alfred barely recognised him. His eyes were weary and panicked, with dark circles setting them deeply into his face. His cheeks that were once so alive with the rosy complexion the English were known for, now looked gaunt and colourless, and his lips were no longer pink but a shade closer to beige. His uniform looked creased and unwashed, and his belt barely clung to his tiny hips.
Alfred’s mouth hung open slightly as he stared at Arthur. He could never have guessed the terrible state he was in from their tense and snatched conversation over the phone. If he had known Arthur was like this he wouldn’t have waited for an invite to visit.

1) Ohoho~ Well for a start, it's somewhere very different from Britain that still speaks English, so it'd be relatively easy to travel around/live in for a time, so that's a big part of the appeal.
And well, how can somewhere that has landscapes like the Utah deserts, the New York pinewood forests, the mountains of the West coast and sprawling cities not be kind of sort of awesome? And the history, for such a young country, is pretty fascinating, and the big cities are just so different to Britain's cities.
A big part of it is probably the novelty of it being different xD But I do love America a lot, for all its faults, it has a certain charm in my eyes. And damn it the accents are fucking hot.

2) Oooh I like a lot about the island, it's only downside is how tiny it is really (which is a massive downside in my eyes, but is an advantage to others). The landscape is so so beautiful(link overload lol):

so that's probably my favourite thing. And the ferrish are mighty friendly too~

3) I've been listening to a lot of Manx music lately so maybe Shiaull Ersooyl by Caarjyn Cooidjagh :3 It's about setting sail~
My favourite song overall is probably Henrietta by the Fratellis or Cosmic Love by Florence + the Machine though.

4) "Decadence" is the best word ever, followed by "licentious"

5) When me and my friends went to Cornaa over the summer, we didn't exactly know where it was and walked for hours, then when we got there it was the amazing pool in the middle of a forest. Then we all went back to my friend Will's and sat in his hot tub for a few hours. Good times :'D

Just updating to say I'm really fucking ill, and that's why I'm probably behind on your journal entries. I've spent two days in bed and only eaten a marmalade sandwich, thereby losing even more weight which is so annoying. People are starting to tell me how I look too skinny, it bothers me.

Sorry you guises, when I'm better I'll try harder to keep up with journals.

I haven't updated in really quite a while, and I'm failing to keep up with everyone else's updates.
School is pretty hard, especially as I feel ill quite a lot. :/ 6 hours a day at school with 4 hours of homework a night is not fun. And it'll probably increase.

But, school itself is pretty good, minus the homework. British history is fucking hilarious, I love my friends to pieces. "HI IM CODGINGTON, YOU'VE CAUGHT ME IN THE FUCKING CRIMEA, LET ME INSERT MY NOSE UP YOUR ASS"
Yes, British history is good.

And politics is pretty interesting, apart from the British political system. That can be pretty mind-numbing, but having debates is awesome. I win every time. *smug*

err and then there's world history, english literature and english language. English lit is good, we're studying Shakespeare's Othello, and I really love Shakespeare. :D

I took four essay subjects for A-Level:
English literature, English language, History and Politics.

I'm gonna be doing so many essays and so much work I don't think I'll be able to keep up with every single journal people post, so if I miss a couple of your journals then believe me, I'm really not ignoring you; I'm probably snowed under with homework. I do wish I could reply to everyone though, I always feel so bad when I don't reply to journals. :/

I was at a sleepover last night and one guy got drunk and kept everyone awake for longer than really necessary, I'm so pissing tired. =_= I hope I'll be ok tomorrow. At least we get to wear smart office wear rather than school uniform now, so we can be slightly individual. Still pretty nervous about who's tutor group I'll be put in though, and this one guy that really creeps me out is gonna be there, I didn't think he was gonna come back to school.

Me and my friends(including fellow LJ-er ruoi) were going to the beach and ended up walking for an hour in the countryside, then hanging around a pool/waterfall in a forest. Like you do.
